Maternity, Children and Young People

As commissioner for the youngest population in England, the CCG will secure leading quality maternity and paediatric services and a healthy start in life for its children and young people.

We will provide up-to-date information about services and support available in this section.

Working in partnership with young people

Working in partnership with NHS England, the NIHR North Thames CLAHRC and University of East London (UEL) we have developed a how to guide looking at how to develop NHS Youth Forums. The how to guide is intended for commissioners and providers working with emerging, established or advanced groups of young people to ensure their involvement in service change and commissioning of healthcare services so that services reflect their needs.

The interactive online guide provides vignettes, resources and a step by step guide in how to build and sustain a youth forum in the public care arena. Examples are drawn from the NHS Newham CCG Young Diabetes Project steered by a multi-agency task group including UCLPartners, Healthy London Partnership, Diabetes UK, Newham CCG, Barts Health NHS Trust, NEL Healthcare Consulting and the Institute for Health and Human Development and UEL.
